LHAA has the highest standards for excellence in our curriculum, faculty, and student support for all of our programs. Successfully educating Massage Therapists since 1999, we constantly are reviewing our curriculum to ensure that LHAA is meeting and rising above the standards established by the industry and employers. Our personal fitness training program is one of the most comprehensive programs in the U.S and we explore the science, technique/skills, and professional skills needed to succeed in a career as a personal trainer. Our yoga teacher training program was modeled after the standards established by the Yoga Alliance and like all of our programs we feel we offer some of the best internship experience and training a student can find. With all of our programs we want to ensure that our students our getting the education they need at a good value.

Hands On In Depth Education
Our school's faculty is truly dedicated to the students' educational needs. We have credentialed faculty members who possess extensive experience as skilled instructors and practitioners in their respective fields. Meet our faculty.
All of our students experience hands on, real world, supervised experience during their internships. Our massage school students provide over 100 hours of massage and bodywork sessions to community members in the LHAA massage clinic. We have a highly professional clinic with 10 clinic rooms that are equipped with music and a "private practice" environment.

Students are instructed on how to work effectively in a professional atmosphere and develop skills in charting, assessment, massage techniques, massage treatment planning, ethics, and professionalism. Our personal fitness training students have both an externship experience with a range of professional settings and also train in the school's fitness studio working with clients in a one-on-one setting under the watchful eye of a highly trained professional trainer. Students refine their fitness assessment and program design skills as well as their professional skills such as effective communication, coaching, and interviewing. Our yoga students also have the opportunity to teach on site and refine their teaching skills. Individual modifications and sequencing of asanas are further enhanced through the internship experience.

On Going LHAA Support
We provide students with all of the following support services: academic advising, financial aid counseling, tutoring, coaching, special needs accommodations, placement services and discounted massages, yoga classes, personal training sessions, products and workshops. Our interest in our students does not end when they graduate. At LHAA we offer monthly, FREE professional development classes to our Alumni and students. Massage Therapists can use these classes as hours towards licensing requirements; LHAA also offers a complete schedule of other continuing education workshops throughout the year, with discounts for LHAA Alumni, featuring some of the best regional and national instructors.
High Retention Rates
Over the last three years approximately 87% of the students that start school with us stay with us and finish school.
For the period July 1, 2009-June 30, 2010 LHAA's on time graduation rate was 98.6%.
High Pass Rates on Certifying Exams
For our massage program, over the past three years 97% of our graduates have successfully completed the national certifying test that is required to practice massage in most states. LHAA's pass rate is typically 10-20% higher than the state and national pass rate. Personal Fitness training and Yoga teacher training do not require certification to practice.
Excellent Placement Rates
For most students, but not all, starting a career and gaining employment is what it is all about. For the report year ending in 2008, 83% of our graduates have successfully found work. For 2009, 82% and 80% of our 2010 students were employed in the field of massage therapy. LHAA is constantly reaching out to the employers of industries we serve and developing employment opportunities for our graduates. Over the past three years the employers we surveyed have given LHAA and our alumni an average score of 3.45 on our employer survey (with a score of 4 being excellent and a score of 3 being very good) when we have asked employers how our alumni performed and do they have the skills needed for the workplace. We have staff helping our alumni find jobs and we provide services such as job posting for employers, professional development workshops for our alumni, newsletters, and weekly job posting updates. |
