The Ayurveda Life Balance Course

Ayurveda, the 5,000-year-old healing system founded in ancient India, is derived from the Sanskrit words ayus and veda (life wisdom).

The ancient wisdom tradition of Ayurveda teaches that we’re meant to live in a general state of peace and joy, and that while life stressors might be a given, suffering from stress is in fact optional.
– Lisa Miller, Ayurvedic Mind-Body Health Coach

Ayurveda, the 5,000-year-old healing system founded in ancient India, is derived from the Sanskrit words ayus and veda (life wisdom). From this perspective, humans are not viewed as mere physical thinking machines, but rather, as fields of intelligence in dynamic exchange with the immediate environment and our planet’s circadian rhythms. Each part of being human: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual, are equally vital aspects of overall health.

Ayurveda encourages us to learn the needs of the specific mind-body constitution (dosha) that we are each born with, and then to use specific natural tools for rebalancing ourselves when off kilter. While it’s common knowledge that stress is a major contributing factor in many illnesses, Ayurveda’s blueprint for staying consciously balanced, offers an array of preventive practices in the face of those stressors.

What to Expect:

  • Principles of Ayurveda
  • Identify your primary dosha (mind-body personality: vata, pitta, and kapha) and your life balance needs, and learn why you prefer what you prefer (from colors and fragrances, to food, nature, and people)
  • Meditation and Yoga
  • Abhyanga, a general self-massage practice using dosha preferred oils
