As a licensed massage therapist staying current on new massage skills and techniques is essential to allow you to better help your clients more and help you grow your practice. As one of the only in-state providers of massage continuing education you can find a variety of classes offered through LHAA without having to make the large expenses of travel to get great classes! Our classes are small and focused and taught by experienced LMT’s both nationally and locally. It is hard to capture the experience of a hands-on CE class online so we hope you will take advantage of the exceptional classes we have to offer! Our classes are designed to help professionals stay on top of the industry when it comes to growing demands or specific, technical needs.

Classes are generally offered on weekends with instruction from LHAA faculty or from nationally recognized continuing education providers.

Trauma Aware and Empowered Massage Therapy with Lauren Higdon | 4/17-4/19

Trauma Aware and Empowered Massage Therapy is a comprehensive 24-hour continuing education course designed to help massage therapists deepen trauma-informed care through neuroscience, somatic awareness, therapeutic presence, and compassionate communication. This training integrates current trauma research—including Polyvagal Theory and the ACES study—with experiential exercises, hands-on practice, and practical tools for recognizing trauma responses and supporting nervous system regulation during sessions. Whether working with clients who have identified trauma histories or simply seeking to offer safer, more empowered care, this course equips therapists to create sessions rooted in sensitivity, choice, and embodied safety. Orthopedics Assessment and Treatment for Head, Neck, Shoulder and Arm with Jeff Zutaut | 7/18-7/19

This course will focus on the assessment and treatment of common pathologies of the shoulder, arm, forearm, and hand. The anatomy and physiology of the shoulder, arm, forearm, and hand will be examined, as will the kinetic chains responsible for upper axial skeletal movement. Learn More >

Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy for Neck and Shoulder Pain with Ann Boone | 9/26- 9/27

In this course, you will learn about common Myofascial Trigger Points that affect function and may cause pain in cervical, shoulder, and related back and trunk muscles. Additionally, you’ll learn how to incorporate self-treatment into the client’s treatment plan to assist in reducing and eliminating pain for you and your clients between treatments. Understanding the concepts of Myofascial Trigger Points, Precipitating/Perpetuating factors, and Referred Pain Patterns, and how they can contribute to acute and chronic pain and dysfunction, will be introduced and discussed.
